What is a difference between Cartoon and Caricature?

There are only few people, who are able to differentiate between the cartoon and caricature, as visual comparison does not show much of a difference, but technically, caricature is difficult to draw and takes a lot of time to master. A cartoon is a drawing or simply a two dimensional visual art. The idea behind the cartoon creation was to develop another new method that can express the story in a different way and which would encourage or motivate children to read or get engrossed in it with a lot of interest. A caricature is described as a portrait that has high features of a certain person. Caricature can be termed as an imitation drawing of a person, but expressed in fun and exaggerated manner.
